cinnamon Biscuits.

Yesterday I decided i was in a domestic goddess / creative mood so i decided to turn my hand at a bit of baking. The Creation of choice was biscuits. First of all I had the idea of making cinamon biscuits but unfortunatly we had no eggs so I hunted around and found a vegan recipe which I chopped and changed abit. The recipe is below and its kind of a cinnamon biscuit recipe crossed with cinnamon toast.

Here they are. Their not burnt thats the scrummy cinnamon sugar glaze.

RECIPE.

INGREDIENTS.

150 g sugar
150 g margerine
300 g plain flour
5 tbs milk
3 tbs cinnamon

plus

12 tsp brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
For the glaze

Pre heat oven gas mark 5 / 180 C

place the margerine and sugar in to a large bowl and cream together with a wooden spoon

add the milk and cinnamon and stir untill thouroughly mixed

gradually add the flour start with the spoon when the mixture starts to form a dough use your hands to knead the mixture in to a smooth ball.

flour your work surface and roll out mixture to about 1cm thickness and cut out in to any shape you like.

place on non stick baking tin or sheet.

mix the sugar and cinnamon left over together and spread on the top of the biscuits in a thin even layer.

place biscuits in the oven and cook for about 25 minutes or untill golden brown.

lastly grill the biscuits under a medium grill for a few seconds to melt the sugar and glaze the biscuits. BE CAREFUL AS IT IS VERY EASY TO BURN THEM.

Lastly cool on a wire cooling tray and Sit back with a nice cup of tea and enjoy.
